GLASS OF WATER

A long time ago there lived a great saint. His name was Sharafud-Din and he loved his mother very much. Once, when Sharafud-Din was still small, his mother fell very ill and had to stay in bed. One night she awoke with a burning thirst and called out to her son to bring her a bowl of water.

 

The young boy hurried to do her bidding, but when he returned to her bedside with the water, he discovered that she had fallen asleep again. Sharafud-Din was not sure what to do. Should he wake her up or wait until she awoke, or leave the water by her bedside and go back to bed himself? He decided to wait until she awoke.

Minutes passed…hours passed…the night passed…and still the small boy waited patiently with the water at his mother’s side. Finally his mother awoke a little after the first light of dawn had paled the sky, and to her surprise there was her beloved son at her side.

“How long have you been standing here?” she asked. “You haven’t been there all night have you?”

‘Yes, mother,” he replied, “I have been here since you asked me to bring you some water.”

His mother was deeply touched by his devotion, and asked Allah to pour His blessings on her son. One day he grew up to be a great saint!

PATIENT LIVES, DOCTOR DIES

The following incident was narrated by a well known preacher of this age known as Colonel Sayed Amir Uddin, currently a Canadian resident. Over 6,000 Non-Muslims have accepted Islam through him.

 

He narrates: I visited a friend in a hospital who had severe cancer. While I was there, a doctor came and gave him the bad news that he will live for only one more week. Then the doctor left to get some medicines for him. As the doctor was going down the stairs, he slipped and fell down the stairs. He was seriously injured and died on that day. On the other hand, my friend who was suppose to die in one week lived for three more years!

This incident shows that death is unpredictable. Today we hear about hundreds of people dieing around us but Satan tells you and me that let them die, you have a long way to go.

THE SHIELD OF HELL

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates: Rasulullah (Peace and blessing be upon him) came to us and said: Take protection with your shields!

The Sahabah (Prophet's companions) asked: O Rasulullah! is there a threat of some enemy coming? 

He (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take protection with your shields against the Fire (of Hell)! Say, Subhanallah (Allah is flawless), Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illallah (None is worthy of worship but Allah), Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest). On the Day of Resurrection, these words will come from the front, back, right and left (defence from all sides) of the one who had recited them, and ensure deliverence for him, and these are those good deeds for which the reward will be given eternally.

Oh ALLAH protect us and save us from the punishment of hell. Aameen. Oh ALLAH if we cant bear the flames of this world how will we cope with the flames in the hereafter. Oh ALLAH save us for our shortcomings and keep us on the straight path. Aameen.
