Junaid Baghdadi and Love for Allah

Once at the time of Hajj, there was a gathering in Mecca of some friends of Allah; the youngest among whom was Junaid Baghdadi (ra). In that gathering, there was a discussion on the subject of 'Love for Allah' and as to who is the lover of Allah. Many of them expressed their views on the subject, but Junaid (ra) kept quiet. He was pressed to say something.
With his head bowed down and tears in his eyes, he said, "The lover of Allah is he who forgets his own self, remains engaged in Allah's remembrance with due regard to all its requirements; sees Allah with the eyes of his heart, which is burnt by the heat of Allah's fear; Allah's remembrance affects him like a cup of wine, he speaks the word of Allah as if All-Mighty Allah speaks through his mouth; if he moves, he does so under the command of Allah; he gets peace of mind only through the obedience of Allah; and when such a stage is reached, his eating, drinking, sleeping, awakening and, in short, all his actions are for the pleasure of Allah; he neither pays heed to the worldly customs, nor does he attach any importance to unfriendly criticism by people."

My Final Journey

I am lying on the bed. My children, brothers and sisters are all sitting by my bedside. Some close friends too are standing and overlooking my face.
Suddenly I start breathing with long breaths. Someone among the people sitting in the room starts to recite, Surah Ya'sin. Everyone around repeats with the reciter. My breath starts to ease out. I am opening my eyes and looking at something. Angel of death has arrived. I am getting late for the eternal journey. My mouth has opened up. My brother is dropping some water into my mouth, it is perhaps the "Zam Zam" water which I had preserved for the very moment.

Then everyone starts to recite, "Laa'ilaaha I'llallaah Muhammadur Rasoolullaah".
I have lost my vision. I have lost my tongue, I have even lost my sensation but I can still hear. I can hear my loved ones weeping in grief. I'm not dead yet but I am almost lifeless. Angel of death makes the final act and takes my soul out with an intensive jerk. I have now left this world.

All my wealth, cars, properties, bank balances, contacts and connections are of no use now. My identity is my grave and I am being referred to as 'dead body'.
My near ones are preparing my grave and some of them think it as inauspicious to keep the dead body inside the house for too long. The house which I myself built and lived in is shrinking in space for me.
My bath is being prepared. I am taken out in the compound for the final bath. My bathroom fitted with expensive bath fittings is not for me now.

I am being wrapped in the white cotton shroud. I am boxed in a wooden box for the travel to my grave. My expensive car is not for me now.

For what then did I amass so many worthless things?
Why did I lie to earn the useless wealth? It is of no use to me.
Woe to me for I wasted my life in vain!
I forgot that my last journey is near and certain.
Why did I sin so much?
Oh! I have lost my game!

Now stop imagining. This is going to happen one day with you and me. So be prepared.
Good deeds will make your journey and the life of the Hereafter pleasant!
Remember death. It is certain!! It is so near!!
This world is just a short dream.

Woman who had a faithful dog

There is a story of a woman who had a faithful dog. This dog was so faithful that the woman could leave her baby with it and go out to attend other matters. She always returned to find the child soundly asleep with the dog faithfully watching over him.

One day something tragic happened. The woman as usual, left the baby in the “hands” of this faithful dog and went out shopping. When she returned, she discovered rather a nasty scene. There was a total mess. The baby’s cot was dismantled and his nappies and clothes torn to shreds with bloodstains all over the bedroom where she had left the child and the dog. Shocked, the woman wailed as she began looking for the baby.

Presently, she saw the faithful dog emerging from the under the bed. It was covered with blood and licking its mouth as it had just finished a delicious meal. The woman went berserk and assumed that the dog had devoured her baby. Without much thought she clubbed the dog to death.

As she continued searching for the “remains” of her child, she beheld another scene. Close to the bed was the baby who, although lying on bare floor, was safe. And under the bed the carcass of a jackal torn to pieces in what must have been a fierce battle between it and the dog which was now dead.

Then the reality hit the woman who now began to understand what took place in her absence. The dog fought to protect the baby from the ravenous jackal. It was too late for her now to make amends because in her impatience and anger, she had killed the faithful dog. A dog deserving praise and adoration that fought to save the life of her dear beloved child received death in return.

Moral:
How often have we misjudged people and torn them to shreds with harsh words and even with physical assault before we have had time to evaluate the situation? It is called the SIN OF PRESUMPTION. Presuming things are one way without taking the trouble to find out exactly what the situation really is. A little patience can drastically reduce major lifelong errors.

The Afghan

The Afghan who hasn’t missed prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque for 37 years, Haji Muhammad has become very popular in Madinah because for a quarter of a century he has appeared on Saudi TV wearing the same black turban while standing on the right side of the first line behind the imam.

He told Makkah daily that he arrived in the Kingdom when he was 19.

He has been working as a plumber for 37 years and only traveled once to Afghanistan.

He said: “I’ve always made sure I perform all prayers in the Prophet’s Mosque since I was a young man.

“I love picking up the copies of the Holy Qur’an from visitors and putting them back in their cabinets.”

Haji Muhammad has made friends with visitors from outside the country who have been impressed with how devoted he is in performing all prayers in the mosque and at the same place.

Some of them have seen him wearing the same black turban at the same spot every year they visited Madinah.

“When I worked for my sponsor, I told him from the start that I didn’t want to miss any prayer at the mosque and that in Ramadan I won’t work because I’ll be in the mosque all the time,” he said.

A man argues that wine should be halal

A man argues that wine should be halal

A man came to Iyas Ibn Mu'awiyah, a Muslim judge famous for his wisdom, and the following conversation took place between them:
Man: What is the Islamic ruling regarding wine?
Judge: It is Haram (Forbidden).
Man: How about water?
Judge: It is Halal (Permissible).
Man: How about dates and grapes? Judge: They are Halal.
Man: Why is it that all these ingredients are Halal, and yet when you combine them, they become Haram?
The judge looked at the man and said: If I hit you with this handful of dirt, do you think it would hurt you?
Man: It would not.
Judge: How about if I hit you with this handful of straw?
Man: It would not hurt me.
Judge: How about a handful of water?
Man: It surely would not hurt me. Judge: How about if I mix them, and let them dry to become a brick, and then hit you with it, would it hurt you?
Man: It would hurt me and might even kill me!
Judge: The same reasoning applies to what you asked me!!

A scholar

BEAUTIFUL STORY

A scholar of language and grammar undertook a journey. A river had to be crossed. As was the custom in those days, the scholar hired the boat of a waiting ferryman who took people across the river.
During the journey, the scholar asked the ferryman, with obvious pride and mockery, if he knew anything about grammar and the rules of language.
The ferryman simply replied, “I don’t.”
Alas!” retorted the rude scholar of grammar, “You have wasted half of your life.”
At this, the sailor was terribly hurt and aggrieved. But he kept quiet. Suddenly the boat was extremely nervous in the high waves and gushing water. “Do you know how to swim, learned Sir?” asked the sailor.
“No!” said the scholar.
The ferryman remarked, “Alas! You have wasted your whole life for the boat is sure to capsize in a few minutes.”
Moral: Knowledge in one branch is not enough to be proud about.

Story About Mother,S Love

No one knows how much a mother loves her children. There’s no measuring instrument that can measure it. For as long as she’s breathing, there exist the words ‘immesurable and unconditional love’.
For an ordinary child, life is about playing, running around with some friends and enjoying life’s greatest gifts and treasures. But for a nine-year-old Riza Astute who’s suffering under the curse of heart deficiency and having a weak lungs, life is an endless struggle in finding the cure for her sickness. Beside her is a loving mother, who never fails to encourage her in fighting her sickness, cries with her, and most importantly, her mother that never left her when she needed her the most.
Mom, I wanna give up. Let’s give this fight up,” she said, crying. They had been in the hospital for almost three months already, waiting for the cure.
No Baby, the doctor said there’s still a cure,” her mother cried while giving her a tight hug. A hug that assured her about not giving up. An assurance of the cure that had long been waited.
There’s no cure Mom, why can’t we just accept it?” sadness colored the tone of her  trembling voice, her mother never loosen the tightness of the hug.
The doctor said that the heart transplant will going to work. Just… don’t give up. Please Baby, for me,” her mother pleaded, sobbing. She saw the naked panic in her eyes.
But there’s no heart donor,” her voice grown higher, trying to be more reasonable as she could be.
Yes there is,” she fell silent, replaying her mother’s words in her mind. “The doctor said she’s right in the operating room now, so they’re going to send you to the O.R,” she continued.
Like who the hell would going to give her own life for a worthless dying child. For Pete’s sake Mom,” she said, tears welled up, she reached up to wipe them away before they could spill over.
I don’t know. Let’s be thankful that there’s a donor. I’m going to thank her with all my life, and I’m going to spend all our money to win you back.” She kissed her daughter’s forehead.
Before she could respond her thank you words, three nurse got in the room and took her to the operating room.
They had injected her loads of anaesthetic medicines which made her close her watery eyes and fell into silent, dreamy sleep.
The operation took a little over five hours longer than it should be and was successful. Thanks be to her heart donor and of course, to God.
It took three days before she finally woke up. She saw her family looking at her anxiously, wide eyed. She searched for her mother but couldn’t find her.
Where’s Mom?” she asked when finally, she’d regained her strength and consciousness.
At the house, taking a sleep,” her brother was the one to answer the question.
I wanna see Mom.” Her voice was rather a command than a request.
Sure you can?
Yeah! Perfectly sure. I wanna get out of this white place.
Well then,I’m going to pay for the bills,” replied her father.
When she got home – excited by the thought of coming home again and seeing her mother – she was shocked to see too many people – most of them were their neighbors – crowding their place. She felt a sudden surge of panic flooding through her, her pulse was thudding in her ears. She put one arm over her heart. It drummed hyperactively over her palm.
She wheeled her wheelchair, entering the front door. She saw her grandparents crying, mourning over a dead body lying inside the coffin. She went directly into it and cried as she saw the face of her lifeless mother under the glass of the coffin, sleeping peacefully, smiling to her.
She died really happy…” she flinched when she saw her father on her side, she felt the need of hugging him, “… she died really happy giving you her heart.” That stung her. She shouted NO, but the words slithered out of her mouth in a silent – almost unheard – whisper. She fell on her wobbling knees and leaned her head closer to her mother’s as another wave of ache and sadness washed over her.

SCHOLAR AND THE ALCOHOLIC

Alcoholic: Do you think I am doing wrong by eating a grape?
Scholar: No.
Alcoholic: And if I ate with it some grass?
Scholar: There is nothing wrong with that.
Alcoholic: And if I were to wash them down with water?
Scholar: Drink and enjoy.
Alcoholic: Since all of that is permissible, then why do you forbid us from alcohol, which consists of the above – mentioned ingredients?
Scholar: If I poured water on top of you, would that hurt you?
Alcoholic: No it would not.
Scholar: And if I were to sprinkle some dirt in that, would you be hurt?
Alcoholic: That would not harm me.
Scholar: But if I were to mix water and dirt together and through a process make a large brick from those two elements, and then were I to throw that large brick at you, would you be hurt?
Alcoholic: That would kill me!
Scholar: The same goes for alcohol.

POWER OF ISTIGHFAAR

Imam Ahmed, may God be pleased with him, once was traveling and needed to stay somewhere overnight. When he went to the masjid, the guard (not recognizing Imam Ahmed) denied him entrance. Imam Ahmed tried numerous times, but the guard did not accept his requests. Frustrated, Imam Ahmed resolved to spend the night in the masjid yard. The guard became furious and dragged him away, despite the old age and frailty of Imam Ahmed.

A baker, whose shop was nearby, watched this scene and took pity on Imam Ahmed. He invited the Imam to stay with him for the night. While there, Imam Ahmed noticed that the baker continually made istighfaar (asking for Allah’s forgiveness) while working, and in the morning, the Imam eagerly asked his host about the latter’s continual seeking of forgiveness. The baker said it had become like second nature, and Imam Ahmed then asked whether the man had experienced any reward from this practice.

The baker answered,

“By Allah! No duaa (supplication to God) I made except that it was answered but one.”
“And what is that duaa?” asked Imam Ahmed.

“To be able to see the famed Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal!”
Imam Ahmed interjected, “I am Ahmed ibn Hanbal!”

He then went on to add:

“By Allah! I was dragged to your place so that you can have your duaa/supplication come true.”

Power of Istighfar - try it and see your life change insha'Allah!

VALUE OF TIME

A miser had accumulated, by effort, trade and lending, three hunderd thousand dinars. He had lands and buildings, and all kinds of wealth. He then decided that he would spend a year in enjoyment, living comfortably, and then decide as what his future should be.

But, almost as soon as he had stopped amassing money the Angel of Death appeared before him, to take his life away.

The miser tried, by every argument which he could muster, to dissuade the Angel, who seemed, however, adament. Then the man said: "Grant me but three more days and I will give you one-third of my possessions."

The angel refused, and pulled again at the miser's life, tugging to take it away.

Then the man said: "If you only allow me two more days on earth, I will give you two hundred thousand dinars from my store."

But the Angel would not listen to him. And the Angel even refused to give the man a solitary extra day for all his three hundred thousand pieces.

The the miser said: "Please, then, give me just time enough to write one little thing down."

This time the Angel allowed him this single concession, and the man wrote, with his own blood;

"Man, make use of your life. I could not buy one hour for three hundred thousand dinars. Make sure that you realize the value of your time."

CHANGE

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country.

When he returned to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony.

He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather. Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.

Then one of his wise servant dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet ?" The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.

Moral of the story:
To make this world a happier place for Ý♡ũ to live in ,requires you to change yourself - your heart, your mindset & ur attitude- Not the entire world.

Change ALWAYS begins with Ý♡ũ- not ur spouse,ur parent,ur in-laws ,ur neighbour or that sumone givng u a hard time.

One must bear in mind everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself. Unless we change ourselves first then we can change those near to us and expand further, Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek. Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you’ll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others.

“Truly, اَللَّهُ عَزَّوَجَل does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Quran 13:11).

POTATOES

"A kindergarten teacher has decided to let her class play a game. The kindergarten teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So when the day came, every child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated.
Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes.

The kindergarten teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for one week. Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.

The kindergarten teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?" The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go. Then the kindergarten teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game.

The kindergarten teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just one week, can you imagine what it is like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime?"

HARDSHIPS

A little boy was playing in his sandbox. He had with him his box of cars, trucks, his plastic pail, & a shiny, red plastic shovel.

In the process of creating roads & tunnels he discovered a large rock in the middle of the sandbox.

The boy dug around the rock, managing to dislodge it from the dirt. With a little bit of struggle, he pushed & nudged the large rock across the sandbox by using his feet.

As he got the rock to the edge,he found that he couldn’t roll it up and over the wall of sandbox.

Determined, the little boy shoved, pushed, & pried, but every time he thought he had made some progress, the rock tipped & then fell back into the sandbox.

The little boy grunted, struggled, pushed, & shoved, but his only reward was to have the rock roll back, smashing his chubby fingers.

Finally he burst into tears of frustration. All this time the boy’s father watched from his living room window as the drama unfolded. At the moment the tears fell, a large shadow fell across the boy and the sandbox.

It was the boy’s father. Gently but firmly he said, “Son, why didn’t you use all the strength that you had available?”
Defeated, the boy sobbed back, “But I did, Daddy, I did! I used all the strength that I had!”

“No, son,” corrected the father kindly. “You didn’t use all the strength you had. You didn’t ask me.”

With that the father reached down, picked up the rock and removed it from the sandbox.

Moral: Do you have ‘rocks’ in your life that need to be removed? Are you discovering that you don’t have what it takes to lift them? There is always someone such as a loved one,a friend even a councillor/concernd Aalim available to us and who is willing to give us the strength we need. Isn’t it funny how in life we often try so hard to do things ourselves, when all we had to do was ask for help?…

AS MUSLIMS WE SHOULD ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TURN TO ALLAH FOR HELP 1ST BEFORE CREATION… THEREAFTER SEEK HELP FROM THOSE YOU TRUST AND CAN COUNT ON.

THE MARRIAGE

We had our first argument last night, and he said a lot of cruel things That really hurt me. I know he is sorry and didn't mean the things he said, Because he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today.. It wasn't our Anniversary or any other special day.

Last night he threw me into a wall and started to choke me. It seemed like A nightmare, I couldn't believe it was real.
I woke up this morning sore and Bruised all over. I know he must be sorry cause he sent me flowers today. I got flowers today, and it wasn't mother's day or any other special day.

Last night, he beat me up again, it was much worse than all the other Times. If I leave him, what will I do? How will I take care of my kids? What About money? I'm afraid of him and scared to leave. But I know he must be sorry Because he sent me flowers today...

I got flowers today. Today was a very special day. It was the day of my Funeral. Last night, he finally killed me. He beat me to death. If only I Had gathered enough courage to leave him, I would not have gotten flowers Today........

Please share this on,to your brothers and sisters. It will open the eyes of brothers who are abusing their wives and it will grant courage to sisters who are experiencing abuse so that they may speak up and reach out for help.

May Allαh save us, aameen.

THE PALACE

Here is another story about Sultan Mahmud of Afghanistan and his servant, Ayyaz. Sultan Mahmud would respect Ayyaz for his wisdom even though he was a servant. This made the ministers and other people of high positions very jealous of Ayyaz. They talked wrong against him and started a rumour that Ayyaz was nothing but a fool.

The king came to know of this and he decided to
prove to them who were the real fools. An announcement was made to all the people that the King will distribute his belongings on a particular date. Whatever a person touch will become his on that day. When the day came, many people appeared by the king's palace.

The king made his announcement again that a person can have whatever he touches. The door was opened and everyone ran to touch whatever was of value in the palace. Some touched jewelery of gold while others touched fancy furnitures, etc. But Ayyaz was just standing by the king and was not touching anything.

People thought that Ayyaz was crazy as he wasn't taking advantage of this great event. Now, Ayyaz asked the king if the announcement he made was certain. The king said "Yes, whatever you touch is yours." Immediately, Ayyaz placed his right hand on the king's head and the left hand on his shoulder.

He then shouted, "Listen everyone. I was waiting for this moment to aquire the most expensive thing. All of you took whatever the king possessed, but you forgot about the owner of all these, which is the king himself. I hereby declare that my hands are on the king, so the king is mine.

You cannot remove one thing from this palace because I am the owner of all these now." After hearing this from Ayyaz, everyone realized that actually, Ayyaz is the only smart one and everyone else was in error.

Today people are only running after the creations but, very few are running towards the Creator Himself. If Allah, the King of all kings, becomes our Friend then what else do we need?

THE AIRPORT

Let's pretend. You're on your way to the airport. Your vacation has just started. You've been working so hard and this is just what you need. You work your way through airport security and answer the usual stupid questions. No problems elhamdulilah. You grab a coffee and arrive at your gate and what do you see? A guy is building a house rite there at the gate. He has his lum
ber and everything. Now what is your 1st thought? How the Hell did he get that wood through security not to mention the hammer. The 2nd thought? Why is he building his house here? Well, let's stop pretending. This life is nothing more than an airport. There are 2 destinations and you are at the gate waiting to go to one of them. Don't start building a perminent home here because you won't be here long. Building a perminent home here is just as insane as the guy with the lumber in our pretend story. Build your home in Paradise with belief in ALLAH along with good deeds. Afterall, your flight may be next. Take care and stay blessed. Enjoy your flight.
