Story of a Blind Boy

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were onlya few coins in the hat.

A man was wal...king by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.”

What he had written was: “Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.”

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

“It is He, Who has created for you (the sense of) hearing (ears), sight (eyes), and hearts (understanding). Little thanks you give.” [surah Al-Mu’minun

VALUE LIFE

Once a person came to a Shaikh (Islamic scholar) and complained to him about his own poverty, saying that he was in great distress and would prefer death to such a life.

The Shaikh said to him, "Are you willing to have your eyes taken out in exchange for ten thousand Dirhams (silver coins)." He replied "Certainly not."

The Shaikh said "Would you like to have your tongue plucked out and get ten thousand Dirhams in return?" The man said, "Of course not."

The Shaikh said, "Would you agree to having both your hands and feet cut off in return for twenty thousand Dirhams." The man said that he would not.

The Shaikh asked "Are you willing to be made a mad man and get ten thousand Dirhams in return?" The man said that he was not willing.

At this, the Shaikh said to him, "Are you not ashamed of yourself? You admit that ALLAH has granted you so many precious gifts, the value whereof, in your own estimation, exceeds fifty thousand Dirhams (counting only a few gifts, by way of illustration) and yet you complain of poverty!"

MORAL: The value of the above mentioned gifts can be fully understood when we lose them. Let us be more thankful to our LORD.

MONKEY?

A lady was inquiring about Islam yesterday and was debating with a brother about evolution. A visiting shaykh was passing by and heard her say, "I have a problem with the notion that woman is from the rib of man". The shaykh said "you have a problem coming from the rib of man, but no problem coming from a monkey!" She laughed, and was quiet.

THE FUNNY PHONECALL

A man rings a TV station & is put on air with a Shaykh (Scholar) live to answer his question. He begins crying & asks for help in repenting for his sinful infatuation.

The Shaykh says, "Place Iman in your heart, keep Iman as the focus of your life. Build everything around nurturing your Iman." The caller sobs uncontrollably, "How did you know her name is Iman?"

MORAL - Place Iman in your heart, keep Iman as the focus of your life. Build everything around nurturing your Iman. IMAAN in this sense is FAITH :)

Abu Huraira (Razi Allah Ta'ala Anhu) reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying, Verily. Allah would say on the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who have mutual love for My Glory's sake? Today I shall shelter them in My shadow when there is no other shadow but the shadow of Mine.
